Almost clunker
Four years ago I ordered a laptop at a local dealer [our office supplier]. ‘I want a good one,’ I said. So I was advised to buy a top of the line Lenovo, costing me a whopping $1,600 [€ 1,300, plus 19% VAT.]

the first day i had it, Windows Vista crashed, and i had to restore the system on my own, as local dealer didnt know how to fix a modern Vista than XP. then, i found more than half video games cant run on Vista at all, and administration controlling is pretty dumb and complex all the time. IE sucks therefore i got Firefox instead ( now both Firefox and Google Chrome for different use)

soon after, my system crashed again and i had to restore it using the disk within Lenovo package, plus installing endless drivers.

each time i restore the system i had to restore my iTunes and my iPod Shuffle, iPod Touch Gen1 ( replaced by a Gen3) and probably the iPhone 1.

soon after while playing video game i found ESC key was broken but it could function still in an odd way. i didnt fix it.

after 3yrs, this battery is totally broken thus i had to run this laptop without battery, and one USB port is broken for Internet use ( mouse works okay wireless card doesnt) and this Lenovo will shut down for overheating frequently.

after all i have no money to fix nor buy a new one as im considering buying a sedan, maybe a used Dodge Intrepid or Ford Five Hundred. no extra money for this at all!

YUP! and endless BSOD!!!

What customers say about EVGA GeForce 210 Passive 1024 MB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 DVI/HDMI/VGA Graphics Card, 01G-P3-1313-KR?

  1. [http://www.flickr.com/photos/orangechallenger] Ha, I did know that. But on cars: if you pick one it is always wise to look for a car that was always in someone’s family. An older car can in that case be a wiser choice as a younger one that had various owners, since that car probably always was well serviced, and will give you many troublefree miles.

  2. [http://www.flickr.com/photos/61002955@N05] [http://www.flickr.com/photos/61002955@N05]
    MS stuff…. ouch.
btw, coming to girls working there, ooouuuuccchhhh!

sure indeed, MS cant foresee future, and thats pretty many years indeed for Win XP. i use Aurora now, future version of Firefox =D

  3. It sounds all so familiar. So, never a Lenovo again for me, and not for you either I assume. Remarkable that you could not use Vista on it too. Windows 7 should be a lot better, so I’m told. When I bought mine I hoped to use it for six years or so, I had a simple and cheap Toshiba before this one, and it was indestructable. So, what did I learn? Going expensive is not always the best option.

  4. [http://www.flickr.com/photos/61002955@N05] Microsoft will stop support for XP in April 8, 2014.
Windows 7 is great, works with the new SATA Hard drives and SSD (faster data transfers) something Windows XP can’t work with.
I use Firefox as web browser and use Windows 7 and Linux as OS

  5. btw, the familiar laptop shown above…

    is just yours, on webpage…

  6. Yea few things I never get from Lenovo is IdealPads they are not very good in first place, Thinkpad R61 series are somewhat better and ONLY run on Linux, the Thinkpad T60 series seem fine, Lenovo don’t even make their own laptops.
    Panasonic make good laptops.

Police use Panasonic Toughbooks. (You can find them used for $500 or less)

  7. certainly so, i am considering buying a rather cheap but stable and easy to fix, and common, durable and tough sedan. but Impala consumes too much fuel for me, Intrepid is all right. 300M is nice but way too luxury on price since sharing that many parts with Dodge/Eagle.

well, it could run Vista, but endless BSOD plus 9 crashing. i dont know how many years it can run in total…

the previous computer of mine, well, was an old one with Sharp or some names. working fine with Windows ME, lol! many people even never heard of this operation system!
